Welcome From The Principal

Tomlinscote is a highly successful school that is very popular with families and their children who make excellent progress, whatever their starting points. Our community is committed to providing a happy and caring environment in which each student is able to realise his or her potential and develop into successful adults.  It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website and I hope that it will give you a flavour of the high quality education we offer at Tomlinscote School.

I am very proud to be the Principal of such a vibrant and successful school. Tomlinscote has a strong tradition of academic excellence and our students make excellent progress, whatever their starting points. This was evident in our stunning GCSE results this year, with 82% of our students achieving Grades 9-4 in both English and Maths, 91% in English and 86% in Maths.  Over 40% of our grades were Grade 7, 8, 9, Distinction or Distinction*.   Our Value added progress measure of +0.60 is the highest the school has ever achieved and we are really pleased that our students are making such progress compared to their peers of a similar prior attainment nationally.

There are four special elements of learning that are important at Tomlinscote and to ensure that our students are “Inspired to Learn”
- We have high expectations and as a result, behaviour is excellent, allowing staff and students to focus on learning
- We embrace technology to support independent learning and add extra quality to learning at school or at home. All our students have their own iPad
- Internationalism is an important theme at the school
- All our students take part in Work Experience and benefit from 1-1 careers guidance.

There are so many exciting opportunities for our students to get involved with and these will develop further as we work closely with the Sixth Form College Farnborough and Frimley CofE Primary school in The Prospect Trust.

Our aim at Tomlinscote is very clear – we want to become one of the best schools in the country. The Tomlinscote community is committed to providing a happy and caring environment in which each student is able to realise their potential and develop into well-rounded, successful adults.

There is no substitute for a personal visit to Tomlinscote and to see our school during a normal working day. You are very welcome to attend one of our monthly tours of the school and I look forward to meeting you, whether as a student, parent/carer or visitor.  You can also take a virtual tour via the Admissions tab/Open Evening.
