3G Pitch for Tomlinscote
The Prospect Trust and Tomlinscote School are delighted to announce that funding has been secured which will enable the building of a brand new all-weather football pitch at Tomlinscote.
Generous support from the Football Foundation and The London Marathon Charitable Trust means that work will begin at once to install a full size, 3G pitch on the grounds of the School. The new pitch will make a major contribution towards the proven need for additional pitches of this type in the community served by Tomlinscote School and The Trust.
Simon Jarvis, TPT Chief Executive Officer, said: ‘We are delighted at the success of our funding bid which means that we will have a brilliant resource in place by early autumn. The full sized all-weather 3G pitch will be a very welcome addition to the improving sports facilities at the School, hugely beneficial not just to Tomlinscote students but also the wider community’.
Rob Major, Principal of Tomlinscote School said: ‘This is fantastic news! We’ve been hoping for such a resource for some time now but never been able to commit the funds needed to make it a reality. With the support of the Football Foundation, The London Marathon Charitable Trust and of course The Prospect Trust, our students can now look forward to enjoying first class facilities for many years to come.’
A spokesman for the Football Foundation said: ’The Foundation are pleased to support this excellent bid which will result in a stunning resource for local sportsmen and women.’
The pitch will be available for hire outside of school hours by football clubs in the local community, providing much needed additional playing field capacity.
