Salary: Support Staff Grade PS7 £29,291.00 - £31,810.00 per annum - Additional Allowance of £1,500.00 per annum
Contract: 36 hours per week, full year, Monday - Friday.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Safeguarding & Student Support Team within an outstanding Secondary School. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and confident individual to work within this close knit team as a Safeguarding Manager.
The Safeguarding and Student Support Team is made up of an Assistant Principal (DSL), two Student Support Officers and a Safeguarding Administrator. As a team we support some of our most vulnerable students. The role of a Safeguarding Manager includes the following –

To assist with the management and training of safeguarding across the school;

Liaise with both Tomlinscote staff, outside agencies and parents to offer the best support for our young people;

Deputise for the DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) when required;

Speak with our KS4 & KS3 students when they present in the Wellbeing Hub or when a safeguarding issue arises;

Keep safeguarding records up to date;

Work with the team to track any safeguarding concerns online;

Take the lead when transferring documents to post 16 institutions;

Attend safeguarding meetings, including those for students who are on a Child Protection Plan;

Work with the DSL and help Student Support Officers in monitoring LAC in KS3 & KS4;

Provide support within the Wellbeing Hub.

An understanding of safeguarding and mental health within a school setting is required. Training will be given in safeguarding if this is not already in place or within Surrey. Experience of working with young people is desirable.
