Pankhurst

Pankhurst House is named after Emmeline Pankhurst.

Emmeline Pankhurst (15 July 1858 – 14 June 1928) was a fearless trailblazer who reshaped history through her unrelenting fight for women's rights. As the driving force behind the British suffragette movement, she played a pivotal role in securing women's right to vote, turning defiance into progress.

Recognised by Time magazine in 1999 as one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century, Pankhurst’s influence extended far beyond her own era. She founded the Women's Franchise League, championing suffrage for both married and unmarried women, ensuring no voice was silenced by circumstance.

With unwavering determination, she transformed protest into power, proving that change is forged by those who refuse to accept injustice. Her legacy remains a testament to the strength of conviction and the courage to demand a better future.

Pankhurst House is lead by Mrs L Ingleby.
