3g pitch consultation
Welcome to our public consultation on plans for a new artificial football pitch to be built at Tomlinscote School & Sixth Form College. We want to know what you think of the proposals and how they will fit with you and your family's use of leisure facilities at Tomlinscote School.
Tomlinscote School & Sixth Form College is an 11-18 co-educational school which was opened in 1970 as the County's first purpose built comprehensive. It gained academy status in 2013. There are currently approximately 1,600 students including 250 in years 12/13.
The School would like to develop a new full size artificial football pitch on the playing fields site. This will cater for the School's physical education and
extra-curricular sporting needs. It will also be accessible to the local community and local football clubs outside of school hours. The new pitch will be an improvement to the existing playing fields site and complement the natural turf pitches whose use is currently restricted due to re-occurring flooding.
The School's sports centre, which provides a gym, studio, outdoor netball courts, sport hall and changing facilities already operates as a dual-use centre, with the school using it during the day and access for the local community during evenings, weekends and holidays.
The development is supported by Surrey Heath Council's Playing Pitch Strategy, which identifies Tomlinscote School as a suitable location for a new artificial pitch facility.
